As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the counseling process. My goal is to help clients navigate their mental health challenges
and improve their relationships.
Throughout my life, schooling, and work as a therapist, I’ve learned a lot about people and the importance of connection. I believe in the power relationships can have in the healing process, so I not only enjoy working with families, couples, and individuals to improve their relationships and individual functioning, but I also strive to be someone with whom my clients can have a strong connection. My belief is that such a client-therapist relationship gives space for vulnerability and promotes change.
With this in mind, my approach focuses on healing trauma, relational strains, and negative thoughts and behaviors that get in the way of individual and relational thriving. I use trauma-informed therapeutic models consistent with this focus to help individuals and families reach their goals. I am trained in EMDR, Gottman Method for couples, ABFT, and EFT.
A few fun facts about me are I love being outdoors, baking, eating treats, and spending time with friends and family. I also like to crochet and read when I have time. I grew up in Wyoming, so the Texas heat is a little tricky for me, but the winters here are much better!
I love being a therapist because it is such an honor to sit with people in their most difficult feelings and moments. I love seeing the strength that people have to overcome hardship and to grow from it. I know that being alone makes difficulties even more challenging, so I feel privileged to support people so they don't have to be alone.
I love seeing relationships improve and the joy and peace this can create.
I'm excited to hear your story and learn about you!
